While discussing block exchanges/fabric swaps, I mentioned that I currently am doing several different projects on the HGTV blogspot. Here is the address if you want to check it out: http://boards.hgtv.com/4/OpenTopic?a=frm&s=1084078532&f=5894011632
Be sure to check out the thread called "Any Fabric Goes F8 block exchange" by topic posted by Shey--you won't believe the beautiful blocks the ladies made for each other! Personally, I wouldn't part with any of them. On other posts, my user name is KC1930, and you might find my blocks made for the latest swap, the Flutterby.
If any of you might be interested in one of the swaps or have any questions, please let me know. Since I have done at least two dozen swaps since February (and many still in process) I know most of the ladies posting. They are the salt of the earth and won't steer you wrong.
Another group I am trading with just completed a three-part swap of the "Trading Patches" block from E. Burns book, "Quilting Throughout the Seasons." A easy block which is a great stash buster and looks great. I have about 400 blocks from trading and the extras I made for myself that I plan on making quilts for the Hospice House in Auburn. I also traded squares with a group on a challenge, and used the same pattern. Here are a few of the pictures of the completed blocks.
*Note: I have seen this made with jewel-tone fabrics with black sashing and also with blue Christmas prints and white sashing...equally beautiful!
Lastly, Mardens in Lewiston has about 80 bolts of batiks and and the same of homespun plaids on the shelves...stop by and check it out. Not to be outdone, Quiltessentials has a collection of batiks that will make your mouth water! Ah, so many batiks, so little time...
