Welcome our newest members, Anne and Emily!

First, we want to welcome two new members to our little group:

Anne Dumont of Auburn and Emily Letourneau of Lewiston. Anne is a new quilter, anxious to learn new techniques and Emily is a student at LHS. We all look forward to sharing and learning from you!

Funny story about how I first met Anne. I was going into Quiltessentials back in spring of 2009 and notice a man sitting in his car, apparently waiting for his better half to finish shopping. I went inside and did my shopping, seeing Anne rushing to finish up and get outside before her husband, Louie got too impatient. Being a woman and to help out my fellow gender, I decided I needed to distract Louie so I went over to speak to him. I explained his wife was just finishing up and we chatted about quilting and other general topics. Somehow, we got on the subject of an upcoming Circle of Friends retreat I was to attend in April of that year. We are given a FQ of fabric (this was a novelty cow print) and need to make something using at least 90% of the piece. Being I was sassy type of gal on the HGTV boards, I decided to go big or go home and make a cow bikini, fully decked out with cow bell accessory. Since I had the finish project in my car and Anne was still inside the store, I decided to grab it and show it to him. That poor man must of thought I was a total crackpot when I offered to model it for him. Lucky for him Anne arrived outside and I told her about our group and gave me my number if she was interested in joining our group. Since it was spring of 2009 and two years have passed that Louie finally let her out of the house. I know I made a lasting impression on him and would fear any association with his wife! Nonetheless, Anne seems to be delighted to join us and Louie can be warned in advance that she is now under the influence of some questionable individuals!
