HGTV Scraps to Treasure Challenge

As you know, I have been participating in a quilt challenge project where over 50 ladies sent in pairs of two coordinating prints for each participant and we were allowed only to use these pairs and up to one yard of two fabrics to complete the quilt top. The trick was to use ALL the fabrics in the quilt, which I was able to do with only about a 1/4" leftover from each pair of blocks!I guess As I type this, I dawned on me that if I used a 1/2" seam allowance I would have used it all! Oh well, next year, right?

In all, only 44 participants actually finished their quilts. As you can see, the quilts made go from easy (like mine!) to very challenging. My favorites in no particular order are:

#11-Deconstructed Dog
#14-Fanciful Circles
#22-Jewels of Summer
#36-Stars Through my Window
#44-Yo-Yo Crazy

The fun doesn't end here. Prizes will be awarded not only for the favorite quilts voted by participants in several different categories, but also trying to guess who made what quilt! I only guess two correctly last year and one was MINE! LOL! After the votes are in and tallied, we will get the winners and find out who made the closest correct guesses. We always have a mystery quilt maker thrown in the mix and that is always fun to find out who it is. We will get a list of the maker and what charity the quilt will be donated to. Mine is going to either one of my hospice patients or the Hospice House in Auburn. Last year's participant was Tom Russell, who's quilt was featured in several quilt magazine articles last year and accepted as an entry in the Houston Quilt Show.
