Quilter's Estate sale in Lewiston

Okay ladies! If you received your latest copy of the Patchwork Press you might have noticed the ad on page 22 regarding Quilters wanted-Estate sale. Of course, you don't have to tell me twice! I was the first one to call her this morning for more details, so here they are:

Ms. Silva's mother was a life-long crafter, and since entering the nursing home, she is trying to sort through all her accumulated goodies. I did ask for more information on the cottons, which have been washed and folded, and are going for $3-5per yard. The pieces go from 1 yd. pieces to many that are 7 yds. or more. None are cut, and when asked about if we need to purchase the entire piece, she didn't know if she wanted to cut it. I guess it will need to be discussed at the time of sale. Personally, I will be bringing along my own scissors, measuring tape, pen & pad and calculator for my purchase. This will save time if more than one person is trying to purchase a large quantity at one time. Also, don't forget a large bag for your goodies!

There are over 270 yards of assorted cottons, blends, wools (which may be higher priced), terry cloth, lace, printed panels, pillow tops, yarn, tatting, etc. Ms. Silva went on to say that she has many quart canning jars and over $4,000 worth of unfired ceramics for sale. If there is a craft, she might have it.

When I asked about payment, she prefers cash, but understands if someone is purchasing a large quantity, cash might not be the best way to go. She will accept a personal check only if you bring along a proper photo ID, such as a driver's license.

Since she is not living in the home, all viewing is by appointment only. You can call her at 784-2622 for more information.
