Kudos to the volunteers who put on a great quilt show in Leeds! "Airing the Quilts" show held this past weekend was a great way to give you a booster shot of inspiration with color and design, and not to mention the adorable display of antique dolls and cribs. The vendors were friendly and knowledgeable, and I for one did my fair share of "supporting" their cause, lol! Two in particular were Nana Sue's of Rochester, NH. She not only teaches in her quilt shop, but also travels to various quilt shows and is a cheerleader for the the Quiltsmart printed interfacing product. I was lucky enough to get the last double wedding ring package, so I will let you know how it works. Her Rochester shop is approximately a 2 hour drive from Lewiston, so the trip isn't too bad if you are going in that direction. Nana Sue's website is www.nanasuequilts.com By the way, Keepsake Quilting is just another 76 minutes up the road, so visiting both shops would make a nice day trip!
Another person I was excited to meet was Koleen Painchaud of Quiltworks Unlimited. She is located on 99 Avenue Road in Wales. Koleen gives longarm training lessons, and you can machine quilt your own, or she will do it for you. Check out her website at www.quiltworksunlimited.com for more information. P.S. Once you train and get used to the machine, she will be more than happy to sell you one of your very own!
