As you know, I have kept Linda in our blogspot "loop" so that she can know what we are up to. I asked her to drop us a line and share her latest projects with us. Imagine my delight when I got her email and pictures! Here is her email and notes on the projects. Thanks, Linda, for keeping us in your thoughts and in your heart! We miss you!!!!
"I hope all of you Classic Ladies are happy and
healthy. I miss all of you--you will ALWAYS have a special spot in my heart, from that first time I met you at Carole's house at the potluck. I think of you often and talk about you to the CA quilters often. Here are some photos of things I have done in the last nine months."
This is my "Maine Window"--I got the pattern from Carole, and wanted
to remember her and my days in Maine when I look at it.
You can't really tell, but my "walls" are very light yellow, with
white window sashing next to the blue.
This is called "It's just a slice of beach and palm trees." It
started out as a kit, but I didn't like the colors of the fabrics when it was pieced, so I sliced it into four parts and made it the background for the silhouette.
This is called Strawberries and Cream out of Control and was made
from 2 1/2 inch strips, at the local guild's "Strip Club."
It is my own design, using some left over fabrics I have kept for
years because I just loved them. This photo does not do the greens justice. They are much more intense and prettier than here.
This is abstract design using some techniques and embellishments I
found at ROAD 2 CALIFORNIA quilt show. It says "O! There are always flowers for those who care to see them." ( Henri Matisse) It will be hung in the challenge
exhibit at the Omaha NE annual quilt show in early June.
The last two pictures are One Two Buckle My Shoe soft book my grandbabies and I made
together. One chose all the buttons and their positions and the other one chose all the fabrics for the
illustrations.
